I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Rhode Island. I have a MA in Environmental Management from a joint initiative between the University of Amsterdam Business School/ Ecole de Mines de Paris. I completed 2 years of a PhD in Political Economy at the University of Zurich. I will find time to finish that PhD when I retire.
My work on climate change is one of my many passions. Other passions of mine include:
Traveling: I have lived in 10 countries across 4 continents and traveled to 80 countries. Traveling educates me about culture, people, history, and natural phenomena. Traveling also keeps me humble and gives me perspective.

Rock climbing and hiking: Whenever it is dry and warm(ish), you can find me scaling my way up a mountain face. Climbing helps me to clear my brain and many of my best ideas come after having reached that “zen” state during a hard climb. If it’s not dry and warm, I’m hiking my way up the mountainside. I have summited Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Rainier/Tahoma and hiked to Everest Base Camp.
Dancing: I’ve been taking dance class since I was 4. Moving to a beat brings me endless joy. I love trying new dance styles and building my repertoire of moves.
Volunteering: Being a Crisis Counselor with the Crisis Textline is one of the most fulfilling activities that I do in life. Whatever your crisis is, counselors are available to help 24/7. Text us at 988.
I am on the Board of Directors of Kilowatts for Humanity. KWH’s mission is to improve people’s lives by providing access to electricity and fostering the development of sustainable businesses.
